Payroll Manager
Purpose: The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities: Accountable for processing payroll including salaries, benefits, garnishments, imputed income transactions, taxes, and other deductions for a multi-state company Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees; including reviewing and importing hours from the time and attendance system, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, e.

, garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as necessary Ensures timely quarterly and annual tax filings Performs payroll reconciliations to support finance in payroll and tax preparation for payroll-related accounts Supports the monthly payroll-related general ledger accounting reconciliations per the close schedule Prepare and file quarterly employer tax returns Manage internal controls over time and attendance to resolve payroll discrepancies Ensure processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations are maintained accurately and in compliance with regulations Interpret new legislation impacting payroll and optimizing best practices ensuring proper pay controls are in place and adhered to at all times Responsible for the timely resolution of all escalated issues and employee inquiries related to pay Respond to internal and external audit requests by providing supporting records and documentation Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiencies to improve productivity Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports as needed Drive special projects to meet business objectives Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or above) in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or equivalent experience Minimum 10+ years of payroll processing experience, with experience on the finance team at an audited company Dayforce experience and/or Payroll Certification a plus Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information Extensive knowledge and ownership of the payroll function in a fast-paced organization, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes required Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing, and compliance requirements Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Strong communication and relationship-building skills to effectively support and connect with a diverse team Excellent written and presentation skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail *Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
