Job Description: Position Title: Guest Services Associate (Temporary) Position Type: Temporary FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Department: Museum Relations Reports to: Guest Services Manager Position Summary Join the Museum as a seasonal Guest Services Event Associate providing excellent guest service to museum guests as we host world class experiences.
This position provides outstanding customer service to all guests and members during our events, exhibitions, and experiences.
This role includes monitoring admission and membership-related activities, greeting guests, serving as a resource for guest and membership questions, and being a museum ambassador, whose goal is to create a warm, invigorating experience to exceed our guest’s expectations.
Event staff will perform these functions primarily for our North Forest Lights experience but will also provide a support role to all other events.
This role is primarily evening and weekend hours.
Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Provide excellent customer service to all members, guests and colleagues at Guest Service locations throughout the event and/or experience Interact directly with guests and Members, utilizing prepared scripts regarding each experience at locations throughout the North Forest Lights, and serve as a resource during the guest’s visit Maintain an organized appearance of all locations Ability to be patient and flexible while also staying energized and focused on providing excellent customer service Relay information to members and guests about current and future exhibitions, events, programs and museum amenities Become proficient with the Tessitura software program, N-Scan ticket scanners and Quest admission tablets used for ticketing and tracking guest attendance Accurately and efficiently conduct guest transactions during events and special exhibitions Secondary Responsibilities Follow the Guest Services dress code (black slacks, blue polo, black shoes) in order to be identified as a staff member Complete all other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and skills required for the job Ability to recognize customer service concerns and address professionally Ability to be a team player Ability to use good judgment Minimum Qualifications Education, Training, and Traits High School Diploma or GED and similar experience required; Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher learning preferred Enthusiasm about being a team member at a new major art museum with a strong visitor-centered community dynamic Excellent attendance and punctuality.
This role includes evening and weekend hours.
