Overview:
The Dispatcher is a key operations link between Lew Thompson, Professional drivers, and our customers.
This position works to track and direct a group of experienced professional drivers, provide excellent customer relations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and other tasks as directed.
Responsibilities:
• Provide excellent customer relations
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance
• Implement cost initiatives
• Review the shift turnover from the previous shift and take the required action, including involving other managers and customers as necessary.
Fleet Management duties may include:
• Track and trace the trucks throughout the shift.
• Maintain positive and productive communication with drivers to deliver on time, prevent service failures, and reduce turnover.
• Receive ETAs and PTAs and manage throughout the shift.
• Receive confirmations of load assignments.
• Monitor MPG & idle time.
• Slip seat equipment as necessary.
Customer Service duties may include:
• Monitor and trace loads so that follow up can be made to customers regarding late pickups and or deliveries, as well as any other load changes that may occur.
• Anticipate and facilitate problem resolution on load issues to meet or exceed total satisfaction of customers.
Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and Driver HOS
• Excellent interpersonal and organization skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced and always changing environment
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
• Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
Education and Experience
• 1+ Experience in Transportation industry preferred
• High school diploma required

Lew Thompson compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company.
The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $40,000.
63 - $62,120.
