Description
The Department of Communication and Media Studies at Northeastern State University invites applications for an assistant professor position in Media Studies to begin in August 2024.
At Northeastern State, assistant professors are expected to fulfill the campus mission, vision, and values through excellence in teaching, research/scholarship and service to the department and university.
The preferred candidate would fulfill an undergraduate position in Multimedia Journalism and be able to teach multimedia and web design courses at the undergraduate level.
The preferred candidate will facilitate courses utilizing Adobe Premiere and WordPress.
Experience
The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in a variety of modes of teaching (i.
e.
, online, blended, face-to-face).
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching.
Education
Ph.
D.
is required, but ABD accepted.
Departmental Information
Located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma (population 17,000), our Media Studies curriculum features one undergraduate major with two tracks: (1) Multimedia Journalism and (2) Advertising and Public Relations.
Candidates are encouraged to investigate the department curricula and clearly articulate how their research and teaching could contribute to existing course offerings.
