Boys BasketballMiddle & High School PE/Health4-Day Work Week Job ResponsibilitiesConducts himself/herself in a manner consistent with what it means to be a good teammate as a member of the school faculty and staff.
Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport grades K-12.
Assesses players skills and assigns team positions.
Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
Works with appropriate school personnel in scheduling facilities for practices and competition.
Assigns duties to an assistant coach as necessary.
Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
Observes players, during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
Determines game strategy based on the teams capabilities.
Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision ofathletes at all times.
Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.
Follows established procedures in the event of an athletes injury.
Conferences with parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the athletic performance oftheir students and to inform them of program policies.
Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
Models sportsmanship and maintains appropriate conduct towards opponents, players, officials, and spectators.
Acts as a team representative and promotes the sport by communicating with the newsmedia, booster clubs, service clubs, and other organizations.
Establishes procedures and carries out duties to ensure the proper care, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, uniforms as well as facility maintenance.
Works with administration to develop a policy for awards and submits a list of awardwinners at the end of the season.
Participates and/or organizes special activities to include parent meetings, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, travel rosters, and other related records.
Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
Provides timely and accurate game reporting to the Arkansas Activities Association and other relevant performance outlets such as ScorebookLive and Dragonfly.
