When I connected this HP 5100C flatbed scanner to my computer (running Windows XP) the driver automatically installed.
I pushed the SCAN button on the scanner, used the Windows version of the scanner software and quickly saw my scan.
No problem! I could have installed the software from the CD and done more.
You will absolutely need a parallel printer input on your computer to run this device.
It will come with the necessary cable and the power cord, plus the software CD
