*Physical Requirements:*
We are seeking a Paralegal with experience in both litigation and transactional practice areas.
This is a full-time, in-office position located in our Fayetteville, AR office.
*Duties and Responsibilities*:
* Familiarity with basic pleadings, service of process requirements, and discovery
* Retrieve, organize and index documents, including bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents.
* Create and maintain internal case databases.
Run searches on internal and external document databases and systems.
Perform legal research, both manual and computer assisted, and compile applicable data from a variety of reference sources.
* Organize interview memos, witness statements and other relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation.
* Work with attorneys in the preparation and filing of court documents.
* Organize exhibits, files and all other supporting documents.
Coordinate trial set-up and logistics.
* Tracking and entering applicable billable time into billing software and assisting attorneys with client billing process.
* Receive and respond to government subpoena requests.
* Receive and respond to medical records requests.
* Receive, organize and index medical records.
* Prepare and organize corporate entity documents.
* Prepare, organize, and submit government regulatory documents.
* Some additional clerical tasks accompany the position.
* Some overtime may be required on evenings or weekends.
*Essential Skills*:
* Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Adobe
* iManage (or similar document management system)
* eBilling and law firm billing procedures
* Edit and proofread documents
* Quick and accurate typing
* Ability to learn new and/or updated technology with ease
* Attention to detail
* Multi-tasking and prioritizing simultaneous demands
* Effectively communicate with others (both orally and in writing)
* Excellent time management
* Reliable, punctual and good attendance
* Functions well in a high-paced environment
*Qualifications:*
Required experience:
* Graduation from an American Bar Association approved Legal Assistant/Paralegal Program or Certification through NALA, NFPA or NALS
* Two years or more of paralegal experience
Preferred experience:
* Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university
* Prior complex litigation experience and corporate experience
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
